Wilmington-Tewksbury Camp Leader: Matt began working on Champion Soccer School in 2003, after he and Charles became roommates at Brandeis University. There, he played with Charles, Brian, and Chris, all who give their time to CSS in order to help kids develop their talents and a love for the game. Matt grew up playing soccer in central Florida, where his club team made it to the State Cup finals in 2001 and 2002, and he also played for the ODP State team and trained with the Central Florida Kraze. He continues to play in an over-40s men’s league.
As a coach, Matt has worked with players from all ages. Aside from coaching at CSS, he works with his daughter’s Newton Girls Soccer team, coached the Belmont High School boys’ team with Brian, and coached the Dexter Southfield boys’ team in 2018 and 2019, where he continues to serve on the faculty. There is nothing more than watching young players learn to develop the skills they need to enjoy playing competitively. He cares deeply about mentoring young coaches (many who were once his players) and hopes they will carry the torch and improve the next generation of soccer players.
